The Sonoran Desert contains approximately 1,300 images. These vary from grand panoramic scenes to a much closer look at the desert's inhabitants. It is possible, using the Camera tool, to take pictures of any of these images and view them within the Photoalbum. You can also export these pictures from your Photoalbum as standard Windows bitmaps (.bmp).
Please Note: the numbers in brackets that follow a link, indicate the size of the images that will be found there
Take
a picture with the Camera
(14k and 6k). Then open up the Photoalbum
(14k) and find your photo.
Click
once on the photo to highlight
(14k) it.
To
copy the file, hold down the Ctrl button and then press 'c' (known as Ctrl
+ C).
The
photo has now been copied to the Windows Clipboard.
To
paste into an application, select that application, hold down the Ctrl
button and press 'v' (Ctrl + V).
This
will paste the selected photo into the appropriate place in the application
of your choice. View
(41k).
Just as the images from the Photoalbum can be exported into Painting and Word processing applications, the commentary text from the Sonoran desert may also be exported. This text can be exported either from the commentary popups (34k) that appear when the 'Commentary On ...' function (found under ' Help' (15k)) is activated. Or if you are using the Audio database (57k) (found in the media laboratory (15k) within the field center) then when you have found the piece of text that interests you, use Ctrl + C to copy the text and Ctrl + V to paste it into whatever application you wish.
Please Note:
The copyright for all of these pictures precludes their use for anything
other than your own personal use. They may not be reprodued, stored, distributed,
sold, or transmitted without the prior permission of the copyright holders.
