Action Comores relies on grants and genorous donations to keep going. We urgently need funding to continue supporting roost monitors in the Comores, to fund research work, to produce further environmental education material and to support the infrastructure of Action Comores in the Comores. Any donations, or suggestions of suitable grants worth applying for, would be be gratefully received. Action Comores often needs to translate documents from English to French (the lingua franca of the Comores) and vice versa. This is a time consuming and potentially costly business, so we would be grateful for any offers of help with this type of work.

One of the most notable of Action Comores' achievments recently has been a great increase in the number of Comorans actively participating in the roost monitoring and survey work. There are monitors at almost all of the Livingstone's flying fox roosts on Anjouan and Moheli, and over the last decade this has resulted in a major increase in the number of known roosts and the population size.
Although some of these people are equipped with suitable survey gear, there is still a need to equip everybody to a minimum standard as soon as possible.
We are therefore asking for donations of the following items of second-hand equipment in good condition:

shoes (only in good condition and only wide sizes) |
tupperware boxes (bulky lunch-sized) | daysacks/small rucksacs |
| light waterproofs (rainjackets) | waterproof binoculars | pen-knives/small knives |
| waterproof watches | simple compasses | water bottles |
| torches (flashlights) |
We are also interested in English/French Grammar books, to help people learn and/or improve their English.
